Record a Lift

Choose a camera, frame rate, resolution, focus, exposure, and stable angle for reliable lift analysis.

Good analysis starts with a clean recording. You can film your set with the in-app camera or analyze a video you already have. A few framing and camera choices make pose and equipment detection far more reliable.

Steps

1. Choose your camera

Pick the front or back camera for the angle you need. The back camera is usually sharper for filming a full lift.

2. Set frame rate and resolution

Higher frame rates capture fast, explosive movement like kettlebell swings more cleanly. Resolution trades fine detail for processing speed on older devices.

3. Dial in focus and exposure

Tap to focus on the lifter, then adjust exposure and white balance so the body and equipment stay clearly visible.

4. Frame the whole movement

Keep the full body in frame for the entire rep and film from a stable position. Match the camera view the assessment expects—some lifts use a side-on view, others front-on.

5. Record or import

Record directly in the app, or skip recording and select an existing video from your device to analyze.

Tips

  • Recording settings persist between sessions, so once you find a good setup you can reuse it.
  • A stable, level camera position makes bar-path and symmetry tracking much more reliable.
