The built-in detectors cover barbells, kettlebells, and dumbbells. For everything else—sleds, plates, medicine balls, cable handles—Custom Object Tracking lets you pick the target yourself. You draw a box around the object once, and a visual tracker follows it from there.
Steps
1. Enable custom tracking
Select the custom path analysis mode. It can run on its own or in dual mode alongside full pose analysis.
2. Open the target selector
Tap the custom target button on the control rail. The video pauses under a full-screen selection overlay with on-screen instructions.
3. Draw a box around the object
Drag to draw a selection over the target. Drag inside the box to move it, or drag an edge or corner to resize—the selection stays put until you confirm, so you can refine it.
4. Confirm and play
Accept the selection and play the video. The tracker follows the object frame to frame, drawing its path and metrics like the built-in equipment trackers.
5. Re-seed if the target is lost
If the tracker loses the object—occlusion, lighting, or a fast cut—the app prompts you to select the target again rather than guessing.
Tips
- Two tracker models are available in Advanced Settings: NANO is lighter and faster; VIT handles tougher targets when your device has the headroom.
- Changing the tracker model rebuilds the tracker, so you will be asked to select the target again.
- A tight box around a high-contrast part of the object tracks better than a loose box with lots of background.
